the british bmx championships is the biggest event of the year

There's a lot of tradition at the Brits, from each region having their own colour scheme (the North's is black & white) to the plate suffix (North riders have .4 after their number) and rider parade.

We'll have more details on the 2017 Brits as we get closer to the event, which is being hosted by Derby BMX Club who staged a fantastic event in 2016.

The Brits is a qualification only event; riders must compete in their regional series to be eligible to race the Brits.

All riders must compete in 5 or more rounds in their region to qualify for the Brits.

Riders wishing to race 20" and Cruiser must compete in 5 or more rounds on one bike and 3 or more rounds on the other.

Riders in all classes (including Superclass) must compete in their region jersey.
